Yusuke Urameshi is a 14-year-old rascal. However, he will save the life of a little boy and be run over... He loses his life.

However, his unexpected death poses a problem for Enma Jr, the son of the Judge of the Underworld. He then decides to make him pass a test, to judge his qualities. If he passes this test, he will be able to resurrect and become a detective of the spirit world, in order to fight with his spirit guide Botan, all the demons found on Earth to do harm there.

Spectacular missions await Yusuke, who discovers powerful powers hidden within him. He will also make many allies throughout his journey, such as Kurama, Kuwabara and Hiei.
